20 Fenchurch Street, London

20 Fenchurch Street, London

United Kingdom

20 Fenchurch Street is a commercial skyscraper in the historic City of London financial district. It has been nicknamed ‘The Walkie-Talkie’ because of its distinctive shape.
Designed by architect Rafael Viñoly the building features a highly distinctive top-heavy form which appears to burst upward and outward.

A selection of Philip Payne emergency luminaires from the Architectural range were installed at the Walkie Talkie including the wall mounted 250FC. The original Philip Payne blade luminaire, the 250 FC has been re-dimensioned and re-engineered many times, but the essential design of fixed void bracketry and a demountable gear section remains unchanged, making installation and maintenance as simple as ever.
