The Natural History Museum in London exhibits a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. It is one of three major museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, the others being the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum houses more than 80 million specimens spanning billions of years and welcomes more than five million visitors annually.

A wide range of Philip Payne luminaires are installed at the museum including the Tyke. Supplied as a single assembly, installation of the luminaire is simple; the TYKE fits discretely through a minimal cut-out with the head on a flexible lead and the driver and batteries compactly contained within an articulated enclosure. The emergency signage consists of variations on the 250 range.
